Community Outreach


Teach For Qatar’s outreach department aims to reaffirm the importance of the teaching profession in the Qatari community through the establishment of strategic partnerships with local educational organizations.

The basis of these partnerships is the sharing of knowledge, resources and best practices to create a community of education excellence in Qatar.


Workshops

The Community Outreach department provides Workshops on the following topics, including but not limited to:

  • Production, Montage and Digital Media workshops
  • Translating and dubbing of existing educational resources into Arabic
  • Filming, design and development of digital media for teachers in the field of education media
  • The use of programs (such as Quizzes, Kahoot, CLassDojo, Plickers) to engage students
  • Teaching soft skills and strategic teaching techniques such as “Teach Like a Hero” and “Building Positive Relationships between Teacher and Student”
  • Workshops which delve into child development and behavior such as “The Stages of Child Development”

The department can also works closely with partners and stakeholders on tailoring workshops set to achieve predefined objectives.


Student Activities

The Community Outreach department also coordinates a host of engaging activities for students such as:

  • The “Little Teacher” Program to help promote the importance of the teaching profession to younger students
  • Workshops on math and science which aim to further their understanding of the subjects
  • Participation in awareness campaigns related to students such as “Awla Biha”
  • Arranging workshops for kindergarten students such as the “Value of the Kind Word” which is set up in a way that fosters an exchange of knowledge between teachers

Events

The Community Outreach Department also represents Teach For Qatar at various local conferences and events such as WISE and Tedx.
