At Teach For Qatar, we urge all Fellows to foster creativity in the classroom and teach students using unconventional methods of teaching. Our Fellows are continuously developing teaching strategies through the use of creative instructional strategies, methods, and models. Ali Al-Samhari, a Mathematics Fellow who taught in Ibn Khaldun School and completed the two year Leadership Journey in 2019, demonstrates this by introducing competitive games such as “The Emoji Code” to solve mathematical equations. He also uses video games and even mobile apps to allow students to relate to the subject and learn through fun. Ali comes from an engineering background and is dedicated to shedding light on the importance of Mathematics. He also has an Instagram account called “The Engineering of Teaching” (@Handasat.altadris) where he shares his unique ideas with the community. Ali was also recognized by his school and received a certificate for creative classroom management. Ali wishes to continue to motivate his students and positively influence them to learn even after his Fellowship.
